
In line with the university's mission of molding students into responsible and globally competitive citizens, National University opened its University Week with the theme, "Halina's Maki Fiesta sa National U", February 20.
This year's celebration started with a mass led by Father Andy Intal of the Society of Saint Paul. The opening ceremony was led by Dr. Estrellita V. Gruenberg, Vice President for Academic Affairs of National University followed by the presentation of the week-long celebration by the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Ricardo S.A. Ocampo and intermission performances of modern/hip-hop dance and aerobics from selected PE students.
Other participating schools were Batangas State University, Bulacan State University, STI, AMA, Our Lady of Fatima University, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Arellano University-Pasig, Don Bosco Technical College and San Beda College. National University was the only school that received awards from all three competitions.
The ceremonial release of balloons and doves was led by Mr. Renato Carlos Ermita Jr., Chief Operations Officer of National University, together with fellow faculty members and students.
University Week was from February 20 until February 25, 2012.
