NU Manila Student Leaders Recognized at the International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO 2025

NU Manila proudly recognizes the outstanding participation and achievements of our student delegates at the recently concluded International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO 2025. Representing their respective student organizations, our Nationalians demonstrated excellence, leadership, and commitment to global citizenship.

Led by Dr. Mary Joy Somao-i as faculty-in-charge, Emmanuel Peñaranda and Reign Alcon from the Political Science Society successfully secured their second reaccreditation. Meanwhile, Rachel Suazo of the Psychology Society and Justine Daizzel Rotugal from the Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers–NU Student Chapter were honored with Certificates of Commendation, a proof of recognition for their future endeavors with UNESCO Club Phillipines. A historic milestone was also achieved as our NU Manila representatives served as principal authors of the landmark Nasugbu Declaration—the first-ever drafted resolution for UNESCO Clubs in the Philippines, set to be implemented from 2026 to 2027. Emmanuel Peñaranda and Rachel Suazo, representing the College of Education, Arts, and Sciences (CEAS), led efforts for the Social and Human Science Cluster, while Daizzel Rotugal provided key insights to the Natural Science Cluster resolution.

We congratulate our delegates for elevating NU Manila’s presence on the national stage and for embodying the spirit of leadership, service, and excellence.
