Nazalian SHS Researchers Represent NU Nazareth School at TUKLAS 2026
NU Nazareth School continues to uphold its commitment to academic excellence as its Senior High School STEM 2409 students earn acceptance to present their research at the UST SHS Conference, TUKLAS 2026: Lighting the Future Through Research and Multidisciplinary Collaboration, happening on April 27–29, 2026.
Two research groups from the STEM 2409 section will represent the school, showcasing innovative and sustainability‑driven studies that explore alternative energy solutions through microbial fuel cell technology.
Among the accepted studies is “Cocos nucifera Electrodes in MFC Using Brewery and Abattoir Wastewater and Saline Substrates,” presented by Avellano, Precious Gwen A.; Fernandez, Eunice Vicky D.; Gilledo, Almira June A.; Jose, Theresse Jayzen C.; Largosa, Janine Irish A.; and Miguel, Lizette Mikylla D.
Another research group will present “Bioelectricity Generation in Bioaugmented Plant–Microbial Fuel Cells Using Chrysopogon zizanioides and Azospirillum spp., with PANI‑Modified Carbon Felt Anode,” by Acla, Sophia Beatrice R.; Bagang, Princess Althea B.; Garcia, Zada Vaughn Jereau S.; Guingab, Mycah Geoanna O.; Manansala, Julianna Marie L.; Mendoza, Rica Vera Andrea V.; and Vargas, Abigail Raemelin L.
Both research groups are guided by their research adviser, Engr. Clint R. Mohammed, whose mentorship has been instrumental in refining the students’ work and preparing them for presentation on a wider academic platform.
