NU Lipa Leads Pawikan Conservation Effort in San Juan, Batangas

The NU Lipa community proudly participated in a meaningful Pawikan Conservation Activity along the shoreline of Brgy. Abung, San Juan, Batangas, where 243 Olive Ridley turtle hatchlings were successfully released back into the sea.

This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of NU Lipa, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) Hatchery, reflecting a shared commitment to protecting marine biodiversity and preserving coastal ecosystems.

Through this activity, NU Lipa actively supports the United Nations Sustainable Development GoalsSDG 14: Life Below Water, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals—by promoting wildlife conservation, environmental stewardship, and strong multi-sectoral partnerships.

The event also served as an educational platform for students and community members, fostering awareness of the importance of safeguarding marine life and encouraging collective action toward a sustainable future.
