NU Baliwag Handog Lingkod: A Journey of Learning, Cleaning, and Community Uplifting

NU Baliwag continues to live out its commitment to service, learning, and social responsibility through Handog Lingkod, a meaningful community engagement initiative under the National Service Training Program (NSTP).
Held on January 28 and 30, students from the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) of NU Baliwag collaborated with Barangay Subic, Baliwag City, and Bustos Elementary School to carry out a series of activities aimed at empowering and uplifting the community. The initiative brought together students, educators, and community members in a shared mission of service and sustainable action.

Learning Through Service
Handog Lingkod featured educational seminars designed to raise awareness on cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and community well-being. These sessions allowed students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world settings while fostering meaningful dialogue with local residents and learners.
Building Cleaner and Healthier Communities
A clean-up drive formed a key part of the initiative, encouraging active participation in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment. Through collective effort, students and community partners demonstrated how small actions can create lasting positive impact when done together.
Strengthening Partnerships, Inspiring Youth Engagement
Beyond the activities, Handog Lingkod exemplified the power of collaboration and youth civic engagement. It reinforced the importance of strong partnerships between academic institutions, local government units, and schools in addressing community needs and promoting sustainable development.
Aligned with global goals on good health and well-being, quality education, sanitation, sustainable communities, climate action, and partnerships, Handog Lingkod reflects NU Baliwag’s dedication to shaping socially responsible leaders who serve with purpose and heart.
Together, NU Baliwag and its community partners continue the journey of learning, serving, and uplifting communities—one step at a time.
