NU Baliwag Shines in Tourism and Hospitality Research Convention 2026 ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

The NU Baliwag School of Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) proudly marked another milestone as it hosted and celebrated alongside the Philippine Association of Researchers for Tourism and Hospitality during the 10th Tourism and Hospitality Annual Research Convention (THARC) and the 11th Annual Tourism and Hospitality Student Research Conference (ATHSRC), held last March 7, 2026.

Bringing together students, educators, and industry professionals, the two-day convention became a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and innovation. The first day highlighted the growing role of digital technology in the tourism and hospitality industry. Participants gained valuable insights into emerging trends, including digital transformation, strategic partnerships, and the increasing influence of streaming platforms in shaping customer experiences and industry practices.

The second day placed the spotlight on research excellence and collaboration. Through parallel sessions of research presentations, students showcased their studies while engaging in meaningful discussions with fellow researchers and professionals. The exchange of ideas across multiple sessions fostered a culture of innovation, critical thinking, and academic growth.

The event was led by STHM Dean Mark Chris Lapuz, who served as the conference chairperson of THARC. It was further spearheaded by Edward Jenner Cunanan, class adviser of BSTM TOU 231โ€”also known as Sangdangaw Productionsโ€”whose leadership and dedication ensured the successful execution of the eventโ€™s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) component.

More than just a convention, the event stood as a testament to NU Baliwagโ€™s commitment to academic excellence, research development, and industry collaboration. It highlighted the institutionโ€™s continuous efforts to nurture future tourism and hospitality professionals equipped with innovative thinking and global perspectives.

As STHM moves forward, it remains steadfast in producing impactful research aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and strengthened through partnerships that support United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 17. With this, NU Baliwag continues to empower a new generation of researchers ready to shape the future of the industry.
