NU Baliwag once again proved that true excellence goes beyond the classroom through ALUMNI ROOTS – Roots of our Tradition and Sustainability, a meaningful mangrove tree planting activity held on January 17, 2026, at Barangay Babatnin, Malolos, Bulacan.

This initiative stood as a strong testament to NU Baliwag’s commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility, aligning with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 14: Life Below Water, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Through collective action, the NU Baliwag community contributed to strengthening coastal ecosystems while fostering awareness of sustainability and shared responsibility.

The success of the activity was made possible through the generous support of the Barangay of Babatnin, led by Barangay Captain IGG. Carlito “Bong” L. Borlongan Jr., whose warm accommodation and invaluable guidance ensured the smooth and impactful execution of the program.

NU Baliwag also extends its heartfelt appreciation to the collaborative efforts of its dedicated offices and alumni leaders—the NU Baliwag Alumni Affairs Office, headed by Ms. Renz Mae Mamaril; the NU Bulacan Alumni Chapter, led by President Alyssa Marie Dela Cruz; the Academe-Industry Linkages and Placement Office, under Ms. Jenny Rose Naval; and the Community Extensions Office, headed by Mr. Fioglo Baluyot. Their shared leadership and commitment exemplified the power of partnership in advancing meaningful community initiatives.
