NU Baliwag Shines Through Community Partnership for Women’s Empowerment

NU Baliwag continues to strengthen its commitment to community engagement and social responsibility through meaningful partnerships that create opportunities for growth and transformation.
On March 10, 2026, a courtesy visit was conducted at NU Baliwag by JSINSP Jennifer A. Galope, Warden of the Baliwag City Jail – Female Dormitory, together with SJO1 Cecille S. Magalona and JO1 Darlene F. Milla. The visit aimed to explore potential collaborative initiatives that will support the welfare and development of female persons deprived of liberty (PDL).
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the University’s Executive Director, along with the Academic Director and the ComEx Coordinator. During the meeting, both parties discussed initial plans for programs that could provide meaningful opportunities for rehabilitation and personal growth.
Among the initiatives explored were livelihood programs and learning opportunities designed to equip female PDLs with practical skills that can help them rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society. These efforts aim to promote empowerment, transformation, and self-sufficiency through education and skills development.
The visit marked the beginning of a promising partnership between NU Baliwag and the Baliwag City Jail – Female Dormitory, with both parties expressing their commitment to continued coordination for the successful implementation of these initiatives in the near future.
Through collaborations such as this, NU Baliwag reaffirms its role not only as an academic institution but also as a catalyst for positive change—extending the spirit of Education That Works beyond the classroom and into the community. 💙💛
