NU Fairview Made it to Cinepanalo’s 2026 Shortlist

For the first time since Puregold CinePanalo began, NU Fairview has earned a spot on the shortlist of the 2026 short film competition through Ayuda, a story conceptualized by selected BA Communication students. The milestone marks a quiet but meaningful breakthrough for the campus, placing student storytelling alongside entries from some of the country’s most established schools.

Stephen Quibal, producer and writer of Ayuda, shared that being shortlisted already feels like a win. With the sheer volume of entries and the caliber of institutions represented, making it this far is both affirming and humbling. It is proof that student stories, when rooted in honesty and purpose, can hold their ground on bigger stages.
From over 200 submissions, only 53 films were selected for the shortlist, which was announced on January 12. The final 20 films that will officially compete in Puregold CinePanalo 2026 are set to be revealed in February. For NU Fairview, this moment is already a celebration of courage, craft, and the power of telling stories that matter.
Congratulations to the entire team as they move one step closer to the final selection! 🎬✨
