NU Manila students from the College of Business and Accountancy under the BSBA Marketing Management program have once again demonstrated their excellence in a nationwide competition among the country’s leading schools.

Out of 25 participating institutions, NU Manila earned the opportunity to present their campaign during the finals and proudly secured 4th runner-up at the PANAnaw Awards 2025. The PANAnaw Awards is organized annually by the Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) through its advocacy arm, the Philippine Association of National Advertisers Foundation (PANAF). It serves as a premier platform for brand communications students. The competition allows participants to apply classroom theories to real-world challenges while engaging with industry leaders who share insights on the evolving demands of marketing and advertising.

The winning team was composed of Alyssa Mae Abrigo, Alysa Acoba, Jacob Elli Calderon, Dara Irish Mae Glindo, Rohanne Angel Ortega, Kim Kelly Pacundo, and John Lemuel Roxas, guided by their coach, Prof. Angelica Joy C. Laurente.

This year’s case study, “TRAPPED: Breaking the Debt Cycle Among Filipinos,” sponsored by BPI Foundation, challenged students to raise awareness of debt cycles among minimum wage earners, promote financial literacy, and propose innovative solutions to help break or prevent the debt trap. NU Manila’s marketing management students responded with their campaign, “LAYA: May Choice Ka Na!” ”—a user-friendly learning platform that integrates gamification to empower Filipinos in making smarter financial decisions.
