NU Dasmariñas Celebrates Mr. Abdullah Abubakar’s Milestone in Preserving Intangible Cultural Heritage
NU Dasmariñas proudly extends its warmest congratulations to Mr. Abdullah Abubakar for his remarkable contribution to the preservation of Philippine cultural heritage through literature. He is one of the co-authors of the books “Mga Kuwentong-Bayan ng mga Maguindanawon” and “Folktales of Maguindanoans,” published by Rex Education.
Mr. Abubakar collaborated with distinguished co-authors, including former Chairperson of the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF), Dr. Arthur P. Casanova, and former Administrator of Brent International School Manila, Dr. Faith Escobar. Together, they have brought to life a valuable collection of folktales that highlight the rich traditions and narratives of the Maguindanaon people.
As a faculty member of the General Education Department under the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education at NU Dasmariñas, Mr. Abubakar continues to make a meaningful impact in the academic community. His dedication to teaching Filipino courses and his passion for literature serve as an inspiration to his students and colleagues alike.
This publication marks a significant step in preserving and promoting the country’s intangible cultural heritage. Through this work, these stories are not only safeguarded for future generations but are also made more accessible to a wider audience, fostering a deeper appreciation for Filipino identity and cultural diversity.
NU Dasmariñas commends Mr. Abubakar for his outstanding achievement and his continued commitment to cultural preservation and education.
